The Commander of the Moroccan Gendarmerie Royale, Lieutenant General Housni Benslimane, handed over the FIEP Presidency to the General Commander of the Guarda Nacional Republicana, Lieutenant General Luís Manuel dos Santos Newton Parreira, on the past 25th of October, during the FIEP Summit which took place in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.
In accordance with the Common Declaration signed during the Summit, the main tasks to be carried out during the Portuguese Presidency during 2012 are as follows:
– To ensure technical and operational cooperationwithin the Association in the field of training and exchange of experiences; – To strengthen the role of high level specialists during FIEP commission meetings;
– To continuously update FIEP website;
– To prepare the “Lifelong Learning Program” Dutch project;
– To evaluate a possible creation of a network of Centres of Excellence.
The approved Calendar for 2012, containing the meetings and seminars to be held under the Portuguese Presidency, is the following:
